Beginning this weekend, we are trying out a new seating arrangement for weekend Masses: every pew is open, but please alternate between sitting at the ends of a pew and sitting at the middle of a pew. Be mindful of larger households!

The Letters of St. Ignatius of Antioch are fairly short and give us a glimpse into the life of the Church in the first generation after the Apostles!

“See that you all follow the bishop, even as Jesus Christ does the Father, and the presbyters as you would the apostles; and reverence the deacons, as being the institution of God. Let no one do anything connected with the Church without the bishop. Let that be deemed a proper Eucharist, which is celebrated either by the bishop, or by one whom he has ordained for this task. Wherever the bishop shall appear, there let the multitude of the people also be; even as, wherever Jesus Christ is, there is the Catholic Church.” – Ignatius of Antioch, Letter to the Smyrnaeans
